Job Description:
Oversees the daily management, maintenance and implementation of all FranklinSquires' content projects. With minimal supervision and within project guidelines, schedules and company quality standards, the Content Manager is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the work of copy writers, freelancers and editors to ensure delivery of projects of superior quality. The Content Manager also personally reviews, edits, checks and corrects project proofs.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees all FranklinSquires content (including proofreading) to ensure that content included meets company standards
- Completes all appropriate content research to ensure content accuracy
- Coordinates with appropriate personnel regarding FranklinSquires content for custom publications as required by project
- Manages all content development to ensure quality and standards meet project specifications · Confer with creative, art, copy-writing or production staff members to discuss project requirements and presentation concepts and to coordinate creative activities
- Establish project objectives and schedules with immediate supervisor · Research and analyze targeted competition to determine the competitive environment with regard to textual presentation
- Work with appropriate internal teams to define project scope, deliverables and timelines for content
- Maintain and improve the content on FranklinSquires Web sites on a continual basis with a focus on quality, relevance and timing of the content
- Perform quality assurance on content prior to publication
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
- Work with creative directors to develop design solutions
- Negotiate with printers and estimators to determine what services will be performed.
- Review and approve proofs of printed copy, art and copy materials developed by staff members
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3-5 years publishing experience
- Strong project management, strategic thinking, planning, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent writing, grammar, language and communication skills
- Depth of understanding of a range of editorial tasks, including copyediting and proofreading required
- Strong quality assurance skills · Must have ability to organize, delegate and evaluate work as needed
- Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Knowledge and experience using computers and related software, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to exercise discretionary judgment and handle situations professionally and constructively
